Mars in 3D is a historical production by Stanford University and the History Office of the NASA Ames Research Center. The fascinating old audio soundtrack was created at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford under the direction of John Chowning and features some of the earliest computer music.
I worked with the NASA Ames History Office to find the old reel to reel video tapes and get them digitized in LA. Then I collaborated with one of the original composers, Michael McNabb to find and sync the audio from original reel to reel audio tapes and reel to reel computer tapes.
Mars in 3D was presented to a live audience of NASA and computer music fans. It is now available on Amazon in Blu-ray.
