I'm an avid backpacker, rock climber and explorer. The outdoors always remind me that the most important part of life is gratitude for the magnificence that we live in, so I try to get out as much as possible.
Rock Climbing Instruction
Outdoors
I've been a rock climber for 18 years and in 2003 began leading trips for the Stanford Alpine Club. I enjoy teaching gear placement, but my favorite is taking indoor climbers on their first outdoor trips. You can see my ticks on my Mountain Project profile.
Indoors
I also taught rock climbing technique for Stanford University athetics in 2008. At the same time, I managed the university's climbing wall routesetting, which is the placement of plastic holds into designated paths up called routes.
Volunteer Park Maintenance
On a fairly regular basis since 2012, I've worked with Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District's volunteer land management crew to maintain trails and prevent the spread of non-native invasive plant species.
